HBO Harry Potter TV Leaks Update: Concept Art, Casting Buzz & Production News

Alright Potterheads, here’s the latest scoop on HBO’s Harry Potter reboot and yeah, things are heating up even if the show’s still a ways off.
📺 First Up: Lady Voldemort?!
Yep, you read that right. According to insider Daniel Richtman, HBO is auditioning both male and female actors for the role of Voldemort. That means there’s a chance we could be getting She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named instead of the classic He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
While this isn’t confirmed, it’s already causing a stir in the fandom. Some are excited about a fresh take on the iconic villain. Others… not so much. Either way, it sounds like HBO is not afraid to shake things up for this reboot.

🧙♂️ The Casting So Far
We already know a few faces for the core trio:
- Dominic McLaughlin as Harry
- Arabella Stanton as Hermione
- Alastair Stout as Ron
And the adult cast is stacked. We’re talking John Lithgow as Dumbledore, Paapa Essiedu as Snape, Nick Frost as Hagrid, and many more. HBO is clearly not playing around when it comes to casting.

🎨 Sneak Peek: Concept Art Leak
A pitch deck from someone working on the show accidentally leaked a few pieces of concept art, giving us a first glimpse of the new Hogwarts and Diagon Alley. Nothing earth-shattering, but enough to get fans curious about the look and vibe of the series.
We saw:
- The Great Hall, looking very inspired by the original films.
- Some cool Hogwarts interiors and what looks like a student common room.
- A sketch of Diagon Alley, complete with Gringotts.
The production designer appears to be Simon Bowles, who worked on A Quiet Place: Day One, so we can probably expect some visually solid world-building.
🎬 When’s This All Happening?
Filming kicks off this summer, but the show isn’t expected to premiere until early 2027, a slight delay from the original 2026 estimate. That means we’re still in for a long wait — so maybe don’t start your rewatch just yet.
Also, fun fact: Cillian Murphy confirmed he’s not taking on the Voldemort role, saying it’s way too hard to follow Ralph Fiennes (fair).
🎮 Hogwarts Legacy Tie-In?
Warner Bros. is reportedly planning to connect the show to the Hogwarts Legacy sequel, creating a shared universe between the show and the games. If this works, we could be seeing crossover content down the line, which would be wild.
That’s the latest on the HBO Harry Potter reboot. Between possible Lady Voldemort, concept art leaks, and big-name cast announcements, it’s looking like this series could be a big swing for the franchise.
More updates coming soon and probably more drama, too.
